It’s no surprise that work-life balance is important no matter what profession you are in. But I can tell you from my experience as a blogger/Influencer you are constantly challenged with creating a healthy work-life balance. Some of the reasons why is the ever-changing social media algorithms that are hard to manage, while also trying to stay relevant and growing in a large market of bloggers and Influencers. Well let me tell you, its not worth losing your sanity over! I often hear the phrase “Social Media must be your life” and I proudly answer, No, actually its not. Thankfully my social media has become an avenue to connecting with so many amazing people that I may have not met if it wasn’t for the power of social media. The other part of my social media is a job that allows me to work with brands and represent them on my own platform.
For instance this picture with this beautiful Chevy Traverse is a brand sponsorship that was a part of my trip to Houston where I attended an event that Empowers Women to follow their dreams! Which was also a collaboration that I participated with my fellow blogger & friend Yvonne Spoiled Latina!

When I started my blog in 2015, I wasn’t planning on starting a business, actually I didn’t even realize that was an option. I honestly wanted to share the journey of my daughter and I moving to Texas for my friends and family. Never did I think that I would be working with big brands, hosting my own events that empower others, while creating an additional income!

One reason I’ve been able to open the doors to new opportunities and partnerships is by collaborating! If you follow me on social media you may have heard me use the saying “Collaboration over Competition” & I truly believe in this. The truth is, I meet a lot of amazing influencers that have platforms and websites very similar to mine. What better way to lift each other up then to come together and collaborate. Some successful ways to do this is by hosting events together, doing giveaway collabs, inviting them to be a guest blogger, or promoting a brand together! There are really so many ways to make this happen and help each other grow!

Here are some of the tips that have helped me keep a healthy work-life balance as a blogger. You would think that I need to be online constantly, but really its all about planning and sticking to a schedule.
Some important tips to remember from this list is utilizing the scheduling apps, this has been huge for my business. For instance with Tailwind I can schedule pins to post on my boards for a few weeks, and even though I’m not physically on my Pinterest Page, I am still active. This works for me because most of the traffic on my blog comes from Pinterest! Another resource that has made the business side of my blog a success is by joining an online community like Style Collective. Which is a blogging and influencer network that has e-courses, marketing templates, rate calculators, Brand directory and more!
Another good tip that helps me is scheduling down-time. Just as you would schedule yourself to work a job, make sure you have time off that you are not on your social media. This will help you feel balanced and in control. Since I definitely needed some down-time after a very busy July of blogging, this Chevy Traverse was perfect to take to Galveston Beach during our trip to Houston.
The 2019 Traverse comes with lots of great features, I really enjoyed the infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition touch screen. It was the perfect size vehicle to travel in, everyone had room to relax and each seat has a USB plug, which made it easier for everyone to stay charged and be happy! If you are looking for a nice 7 passenger vehicle stop and check out the new Chevy Traverse!

Starting a content calendar for my blog and pre-planning my Instagram posts has taken away SO much stress! It’s so nice to know what your next step is going to be 🙌
I really need to work on some of these, especially using scheduling tools more often and preplanning my captions. They take me the longest.
As one who has just this year started working with brands, I find social media engagement takes a huge chunk of my time. I feel like it’s just what I need to be doing at this point, to get where I want to go. I love the relationships I’m forming and the community that’s growing! Thanks for sharing excellent tips.
I 100% recommend Tailwind as well, it is such a game-changer. And having a dedicated workspace is key!
Great tips! I love watching your brand grow and being part of this journey with you.
Thank you so much Crystal, You support, help & love you have shown me on this journey means so much to me! Love being #BloggingBesties
oh my gosh i love Tailwind and also scheduling some ‘down time’ is truly needed too so you don’t get overwhelmed!
I appreciate that you say to “schedule downtime” – in my opinion that’s the easiest thing to forget about! I can’t be my best at anything I’m doing if I’m burnt out.
I really need to work on incorporating some of these tips. It can be so easy to lose time when it is unstructured.
Thank you for the tips, Marisa. I definitely need to get a scheduling app. Also, I hear great thing about Tail Wind, another tool I need. I have no clue what I am doing on Pinterest but so many Bloggers rave about it.
Thank you Emely, Pinterest has been so huge for myself and so many others. If you need any help with Pinterest just let me know.. I’d love to send you some tips!
Pre-planning your social media content and captions is SUCH a life-saver! Every now and then I’ll hit a creative block and won’t have anything scheduled, and that’s when I feel super frazzled and stressed. But when I take the time to plan ahead, take a batch of photos, decide when to post them and what to say, everything else in life just seems to fall into place!
These are awesome ideas for finding work-life balance as an influencer. Utilizing scheduling apps has been key for me! It’s a time saver for sure. Keep on being fabulous!
