This weekend I celebrated Dia de los Muertos also known as the Day of the Dead in one of my favorite places… the Historic Market Square in San Antonio! During November 1st – November 2 this tradition is shared by Mexican families all over the world. It’s a beautiful way to remember our loved ones that have passed on and honor their memory. A special alter is decorated with candles, marigold flowers and other special items that remind us of that special person!
Cerveza Minerva and La Familia Cortez Restaurants put on a beautiful event at their Viva Villa Restaurant. The event included food, samples of Cerveza Minerva and an interactive photo wall that had props and an amazing pop of color that really set the mood! If you ever visit downtown San Antonio, you will most likely experience one of their amazing restaurants! The Cortez family has been serving delicious authentic Mexican dishes to visitors since the early 1940’s. It’s truly an experience that you will always remember when visiting San Antonio! I literally have family that ask to visit their iconic Mi Tierra Cafe whenever they visit us!

My family don’t celebrate Dia de la Muertos but I’ve always be interesting in it. I love that you celebrate your loved ones, like we all should.
Really love festive events like this. I’ve yet to find a place in my area that celebrates Dia de los Muertos. Wouldn’t mind sampling some of that beer too 🙂
We set up an alter at home but next year I want to take my kids to celebrate downtown. I also wanna try that beer!
