If you don’t know who Lilly Singh (A.K.A Superwoman) is… then you are either not an avid You Tube watcher, don’t have a teenager or just have not realized that she is one of the top You Tubers that turned her dreams into a reality! Hands down Lily is an #empoweringwomen and I couldn’t have wished for my daughter (Mariya) to look up to anyone better than Lilly that is in the social media spotlight!
A short background on Lilly, she is an extremely funny 27 yr old young lady from Canada. Like most of us go-getters Lilly puts passion into everything she does. But it was the set backs and disappointments that pushed her to go after her dreams and create her own platform where she literally brings smiles and laughter for over 11 million you tube followers!
Lilly just released her first book “How to be a Bawse” in March and it’s already a New York Times best seller! She did a huge book tour and one of her stops happened to be at the Book People Store in Austin Texas, just 45 minutes from our home in San Antonio! Mariya has been following Lilly for about 4 years! Watching you tube videos is so easily accepted as the alternative to watching your favorite T.V. show, its just that talented young people like Lilly, create their own content and scripts, edits their own videos and share them for the world to see. Lilly’s You Tube channel is clearly a comedy type of channel, she imitates and acts out all various types of characters and scenarios that the young generation can adapt to, and she’s so damn good at it!
I read the first 4 chapters of her book and I was so impressed with how she put herself out there and shared all her ups and downs, including how she has grown into a multi-millionaire over the last 6 years. Lilly was so amazing at her book signing, she took time to speak to each and every person in line. There were complete families, children and young adults of all ages that came out to see her. Lilly really makes an impact on so many people beyond her comedic You Tube channel! Mariya and myself will never forget this experience and I appreciate the positive influence Lilly has had on her!
Lilly even took a minute to wave “Hello” to Mariya’s best friend Sophia who was watching via face-time all the way from Michigan! Check out our video of all the excitement!!!
Lilly Singh’s campaign with “WE” is to spread #GirlLove and stop the negativity and stand up for your beliefs!
Lilly also has a national campaign to stop the girl on girl hate that happens way too much! Her Girl Love Rafiki Bracelet challenges young girls to spread #GirlLove world wide and the proceeds from each bracelet helps girls in Kenya have access to primary education!
Lilly also embarked on a global tour called “A Trip to Unicorn Island” spreading her good vibes all around the world!
Lilly is an awesome woman. She is an inspiring person.
Lilly is great example for young women! I am sure your daughter would be dancing with happiness also her friend!
How awesome! I’ll have to ask my daughter if she watches her. I know she watches so many people on YouTube, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she did.

Wow! What an inspiring person! I know your daughter was stoked. It is nothing like a woman making her own way and living by her own rules!
Some teen inspiration there. Great knowing your daughter has an idol to look up to!
To be honest I haven’t heard of Lily. It is nice that she found some inspiration from someone and that the person was accessible and she could connect with. it’s nice when people get big that they keep giving back to those that made them big in the first place.
