Selena: The Series on Netflix was released on December 4th and I was so ready for it! What better way to watch it than with a Selena themed watch party and a few of my favorite gals! The 2021 Chevy Colorado was perfect to set up outside with our projector and big screen to enjoy the show. So I wanted to share some of my favorite things about the 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2!
If you are in the market for a roomy crew cab pick up truck then the Chevy Colorado ZR2 will be a perfect choice. As always, Chevy never disappoints with their infotainment system. Most of their trucks have wireless device charging, Apple/Android car play, and Wi-Fi/hot spot capabilities! This really came in handy for our watch party and made it super easy to hook up the projector, connect Netflix and enjoy the show! Some of the other features that I really loved about the Chevy Colorado is the safety and security. You can always count on rear-seat reminder, stability control and teen driver capabilities! And honestly its a beautiful truck with tons of room!
Setting up for the Selena themes party was so much fun!!! We found some great balloons that were all about the Selena vibes and picked out party supplies that included our Selena themed masks and Techno Cumbia plates from Chic Party Goods!
My thoughts on the Netflix Selena: The Series!
I personally thought the Selena Series was much needed and told a story beyond her rise to fame! I made it a point to go into this with an open mind and not comparing it to the movie. So what did I enjoy about it? I really loved the back story that showed her growing up and also learning more about the band members. It really shows the struggle as a band and family and how many doors were closed in their face before eventually getting a record deal. I also think that Netflix created this to reach a new demographic. My daughter is 16 and fell in love with Selena all over again! The way her story is being told is really connecting with our younger generation and I love that so much!
Aside from this being her story, I love that its directed by 2 amazing Latinas, the cast is phenomenal and this representation is needed! I do hope that at some point we can hear the love story between her and her husband, I think that would be a beautiful way to honor her memory. Until then, I’m looking forward to season 2 of Selena: The Series!
